Regulatory Support for Lepse FTB

The overall purpose of this project is to provide technical support to the Russian Regulatory authorities: FMBA of Russia, Rostekhnadzor and Rosprirodnadzor to facilitate the regulatory supervision process for the Lepse decommissioning activities and consequently to contribute to the efficient and safe implementation of the Technical Project under Grant 5 'Decomissioning of the Lepse Floating Technical Base).

Support is especially required in areas where specific regulations and standards are not available (e.g. the requirement for the final blocks of the ship sections to be considered as waste packages prepared for long-term storage, the development of specialised equipment for retrieval of spent nuclear fuel from damaged assemblies).
