Brest Vodokanal launched the first stage of reconstruction

Brest Vodokanal launched the first stage of reconstruction of the Brest Wastewater Treatment Plant in an official ceremony which took place on 8 June 2017.  The reconstruction, financed by the NIB loan, NDEP grants and bilateral grants from the Swedish and Finnish governments, will be carried out in four stages with completion envisaged in 2019. The project aims to reduce discharges of untreated waste water to the Baltic Sea and help achieve compliance with HELCOM recommendations.
